Funding Opportunities from Honda and the Honda USA Foundation
Honda’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) vision is to help people fulfill their life’s potential. We support this vision by investing in the communities where we live and work through meaningful funding opportunities. Honda CSR funding is available through two sources: Honda corporate and the Honda USA Foundation.
Honda corporate and the Honda USA Foundation provide funding opportunities for programmatic support. Additionally, Honda corporate offers community event sponsorships. Each funding request is evaluated on its own merit, with consideration given to community needs, impact, and available resources.
Below, you’ll find detailed information including available funding opportunities, eligibility criteria and application instructions for both programmatic support and community event sponsorships.
Honda corporate and the Honda USA Foundation provide funding to nonprofit organizations and schools to support high impact programs that align with our Pillar Awards.
Year-over-year certain Pillar Awards may not always be open for funding, are subject to change, and in some cases, Honda may extend invitation-only opportunities to select community partners.
The application window for programmatic funding opens each fall with decisions announced the following spring. Our programmatic funding application is currently closed. Details on available Pillar Award opportunities for the 2027-2028 Funding Cycle will be available in the fall of 2026. Please check back then for updates.

Request Range: Up to $25,000
Number of Applications: Organizations can submit multiple community event sponsorship applications; however, applications cannot be for the same event
Organization Eligibility
To be considered, organizations must meet the following requirements:
Organizations must be located in the United States
Organizations must meet one of the two classifications:
Hold nonprofit tax-exempt status under the Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3) or utilize a tax-exempt, non-profit fiscal sponsor
For Community Event Sponsorships, applications are also accepted from organizations with 501(c)(4) or 501(c)(6) status.
Schools and school districts as listed by the U.S. Department of Education’s National Center for Education Statistics (NCES)
Organizations Not Eligible
The following types of organizations are not eligible for funding:
Organizations ineligible for contributions under any state or federal law.
Organizations with a pending 501(c)(3) tax-exempt public charity status
Political parties, candidates, or campaigns
Private clubs, fraternities, or sororities
Organizations that represent a conflict of interest with Honda
Organizations located outside the U.S. or those whose funds are used outside the U.S.
Organizations that discriminate on the basis of race, color, ethnicity, national origin, ancestry, age, religion, sex, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, veteran or military status, marital status, family status, genetic information, or any other status protected by law
Requests Not Eligible
The following types of requests will not be considered:
Requests for auction or raffle items
Requests to support athletic teams
Requests from individuals
Request to support political parties, candidates, or campaigns
Requests submitted outside of the online system
Request for programs or events that are organized or implemented for religious purposes
Geographic Scope
Requests for programmatic support and community event sponsorships can be local, regional or national in scope, but must primarily benefit communities where Honda associates live and work. Eligible requests must serve one or more of the following states, where Honda has major operations in the U.S. and a strong community presence:

New Jersey
New York
North Carolina

South Carolina

Please note, funding opportunities are open to programs and/or events that serve communities where Honda has corporate operations. Honda and Acura dealerships are independently owned and operated.

Funding Agreements
If awarded funding, Honda corporate and the Honda USA Foundation expect awardees to execute our standard agreements. Failure to sign the standard agreements “as is” may result in the award being rescinded.
Associate Engagement
Honda actively fosters a culture of community involvement by empowering associates to lead and participate in impactful engagement initiatives. To deepen our impact, Honda exclusively organizes associate engagement opportunities with our funded partners.
