During the Zoo Teen internship, approximately 70 youth explore topics such as biology, environmental sciences, and climate change. Volunteer | Coastal Cleanup Day is the largest single-day volunteer event on the Planet, with volunteers from over 90 countries around the world coming out to take a stand against ocean pollution. In Los Angeles County, CA, it is coordinated by Heal the Bay in conjunction with the California Coastal Commission, The Ocean Conservancy and the Los Angeles County Department of Beaches and Harbors. In 2017, 200 Honda volunteers, associates, retirees, family and friends took part in this effort to clean a beach near the American Honda headquarters in Torrance along with the City of Torrance and the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce. Honda has participated in the annual Coastal Cleanup Day since 2002. |
