Being able to interact with horses can have a positive effect on people, as has been experienced by those involved with therapeutic riding programs. Discovery Riders is one such therapeutic riding center located in Bellefontaine, Ohio, where Honda associates have been volunteering for more than a decade to help individuals with disabilities learn to ride a horse.

Volunteers during Team Honda Week(s) of Service and year-round have become horse leaders and side-walkers or help take care of the horses and upkeep the facility. The reward is seeing students as young as four years old learn horsemanship skills, while benefiting them physically, cognitively and socially.
