Honda Launches Virtual School Supply Drive for Week(s) of Service

Following up on the success of Honda’s Virtual Food Drive, Honda has launched a new Virtual School Supply Drive as part of the company’s ongoing Team Honda Week(s) of Service. Associates, dealers and suppliers are encouraged to participate in the drive, which is dedicated to collecting supplies for schools and other organizations to support students in Honda’s local communities.

The Virtual School Supply Drive, which runs through through Friday, Aug. 13, will provide an opportunity for the Honda community to purchase the most needed school supplies identified by the organizations and YouGiveGoods, an easy-to-use giving platform. YouGiveGoods delivers all the purchased items, making this a safe and simple way to participate in Team Honda Week(s) of Service.

“This virtual opportunity is a great way to give back to your local community and support schools, which have been hit especially hard as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic,” said American Honda Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Division Lead and Vice President Yvette Hunsicker.

As part of this Virtual School Supply Drive, Honda is challenging participants in this virtual drive to help reach a goal of donating 10,000 items, or a value of $20,000 in school supplies. The matched funds will be distributed evenly to each organization listed on the YouGiveGoods site.

Last month, Honda completed a successful Virtual Food Drive, resulting in 18,707 food items being delivered to food assistance organizations, a value of $42,701.08.

When you shop online through YouGiveGoods, you will receive a tax-deductible receipt, and all donations will be directly shipped to the organizations once the drive closes. Please note, this is a special matching contribution project for Honda’s Week(s) of Service. These types of tangible goods donations are not eligible for Honda’s regular Matching Gift Program.

Visit https://yougivegoods.com/honda-us-btsdrive to see the list of eligible schools and organizations, selected by the Corporate Social Responsibility Division. Simply select an organization from the list and the school supplies you wish to donate.
