Team Honda Extending ‘Week(s) of Service’ through June-August 2021
Team Honda Week of Service will return this year, but with a few important changes due to the pandemic.
The biggest being that instead of a single week in June, Week of Service will take place throughout the summer from June through August.
In addition, Honda companies, dealers and suppliers who choose to participate in “Week(s) of Service,” will be encouraged to align their community service activity to support the COVID-19 recovery in one of the following areas:
- Food insecurity support;
- Supporting our seniors;
- Support for our non-profit partners; and/or
- Showing appreciation for essential workers.
“We are taking COVID-19 precautions very seriously and will provide some different opportunities for participants to serve this summer,” said Mary Miller, Week(s) of Service project leader. “Week(s) of Service fosters camaraderie and goodwill among our associates, business partners and dealers. There will be many ways to generate the same feeling, just in smaller, or virtual, groups this year.”
Week of Service typically coincides with Honda’s Founders Day on June 11, 1959, when Honda was founded in North America. This year marks the fifth annual Team Honda Week of Service, during which Honda associates, dealerships and suppliers commit to perfoming community service projects. The event was canceled in 2020 as a result of the pandemic.
Since its start in 2016, the Team Honda Week of Service has touched communities in Canada, Mexico and the United States.
