Honda Women Leaders Inspire at Women Business Enterprise event

Honda’s women leaders made an impact at an event held this month by the Women’s Business Enterprise Council – Ohio River Valley.

The organization provides certification and business development to women owned companies in Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia.

Pam Heminger, VP and general manager of purchasing at Honda of America Mfg. (HAM) offered welcoming remarks to more than 50 women business owners in attendance.

Heminger spoke about confidence, commitment and presence and how those three concepts have remained her focal points during her time at Honda.

“What has kept me going is having confidence in myself and in my dreams – even when I was told no. My perseverance and confidence transformed some of those ideas into from “no” into a true change,” Heminger told the group.

Following her remarks, Heminger was joined by Yvette Hunsicker, Honda North American VP of the Office of Inclusion and Diversity and human resources and Monica Oliverio, manager, indirect procurement for HAM, for a panel discussion on issues facing women in business.

WBEC ORV is one of 14 Regional Partner Organizations authorized to administer WBE certification across the United States.
