Honda and Pacers Teaming Up for Dreams

Honda Manufacturing of Indiana (HMIN) wrapped up a series of activities with the Indiana Pacers’ “Dream Big Initiative” this month, culminating in a meet and greet for some students with a Pacers player and a family STEM fest.

The month-long campaign included the “Dream Big Challenge,” which involved 4th through 9th grade students submitting multimedia submissions based on Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech. One winner per grade was selected and they received two tickets to the Indiana Pacers game on Feb. 28. Winners participated in a pregame meet and greet with a Pacers player and were recognized during a special on-court recognition.

On March 2, Honda participated in the 2nd annual Indiana Pacers STEM Fest, a family event designed to spark the curiosity of students. Local Indiana companies, universities and non-profit organizations provided hands-on demonstrations and activities for students. HMIN spent time talking to students and parents about STEM in manufacturing and watching kids test their skills on virtual reality painting equipment.

The Dream Big Initiative celebrates the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Black History Month.
