Honda Supports Magic City Classic

Honda Manufacturing of Alabama (HMA) associates were proud to represent Honda & two of Alabama’s most celebrated Historically Black Colleges and Universities – Alabama A&M and Alabama State – at this year’s Magic City Classic events.

Unlike some classics, the Magic City Classic has always been played by the same two teams. For 77 years, ASU and A&M have competed in the series for the Magic City Classic trophy. The Magic City Classic is known as the largest football game between HCBUs in the nation. It attracts tens of thousands of students, alumni and fans to Birmingham for the game and the events surrounding it.

The annual matchup between the two schools on Oct. 27 left Alabama State with the loss but it was a great day and Honda was proud to support the event!

In addition to showing off our vehicles in the parade, HMA Vice President Mike Oatridge joined representatives from both universities on the field at halftime to present a $10,000 donation to each university’s scholarship fund.
