Honda Companies Support Run 4 Kids/Ride for Kids Events
More than 150 Honda associates from Honda of America Mfg., Inc. and Honda R&D Americas, Inc. participated in the annual Run 4 Kids 5K Run/Walk last month in Ohio. The Run 4 Kids and Ride for Kids events benefit the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. Honda companies across the U.S. participate in these events.
Ride for Kids is the longest-running, most successful motorcycle charity in the nation. It was created in 1991 by the founders of Ride for Kids, and is now the leading nonprofit funding research into childhood brain tumors. Their events help fund free educational resources, college scholarships for brain tumor survivors and emergency financial aid for families.
Cindy Haavisto, Honda Federal Credit Union Marysville branch manager, which led the Ride for Kids event this year, said excitement was definitely in the air that morning and was felt by everyone who attended. She said the credit union expressed an interest in supporting our local communities as “One Team Honda,” and managing this event is the result of that dream.
The events raised $71,340 for pediatric brain tumor research and support.
