Honda is Second Largest Supporter of “Taste of the South” Event in DC
Four Honda companies partnered with Taste of the South (TOTS) for its 36th annual gala on April 21, to raise money for more than a dozen charities in the South and to celebrate the culture of southern states. Their annual spring gala is the organization’s largest fundraiser, hosting more than 2,000 guests for an evening featuring southern cuisine and entertainment.
Fourteen nonprofit organizations from the 13 southern states and Washington, D.C., were selected to be beneficiaries of the event. Honda Precision Parts of Georgia (HPPG), Honda of South Carolina (HSC), Honda Aircraft Company (HACI), Honda Manufacturing of Alabama (HMA), and HNA’s Government and Industry Affairs Office combined their contributions to make Honda the second highest contributor. Recipients of grants from the event include Eureka! in Alabama, Georgia FIRST, STEM in the Park in North Carolina, and Palmetto Partners in South Carolina.
This year, TOTS focused on supporting science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) organizations. Honda understands the importance of STEM education for our youth, and has long supported similar programs through the American Honda foundation.
TOTS raises over a half million dollars each year, and Honda has been a part of that journey for the past five years. With Honda’s mission to make a difference in ways that extend past our assembly lines, initiatives like TOTS are one way to help us do just that.
