Visitors Enjoy UNI-CUB Demo at Honda Exhibit
Visitors to the Center of Science and Industry (COSI) in Columbus, Ohio, had the rare opportunity on March 24 to not only experience the technology developed for Honda products, but also to interact directly with some of the associates that make the technology possible.
Honda engineers from the Raymond, Ohio, research and development center were on hand to meet with COSI visitors to talk about the technologies in the Meet the Innovators exhibit and the benefits of science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) education. In addition, guests saw live demonstrations of the Honda UNI-CUB, a groundbreaking personal mobility device developed by Honda Robotics.
The Meet the Innovators exhibit is designed to help build career awareness and to showcase the opportunities available through studying STEAM subjects. The exhibit will also spotlight the new Imaginate area of COSI where guests can learn about physics, aerospace, mechanical engineering and materials science.
Honda joined with COSI and the PAST Foundation to create the interactive and fun Meet the Innovators exhibit, which debuted Dec. 11, 2016. The engineering-focused mobility exhibit allows guests to learn about science and technology through hands-on interaction and video interviews. The display features an interactive wind tunnel, shows how suspensions and springs make a car ride more smoothly, and teaches about the inner workings of an engine.
