Honda R&D Collects Winter Clothing for Youths

To bring warmth to those in need this winter season, Honda R&D associates in Ohio filled a 2016 Honda Odyssey SE to the top with winter clothing, including coats, boots, homemade knitted hats and scarves, and many other items to benefit the Kaleidoscope Youth Center of Columbus, OH (KYC).

KYC’s mission is to work in partnership with young people in Central Ohio to create safe and empowering spaces for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning and Ally youth through advocacy, education, support, and community engagement.

It was an all-hands-on-deck effort by PRISM, one of Honda R&D’s business resource groups, which worked with HRA’s fabrication department on the custom decals for the vehicle and engaged all associates to bring in donations.

When KYC received the delivery at their doorstep, they all gasped at the amount of clothing that was donated. As KYC Executive Director Amy Eldridge said, “Just in time for the cold temperatures!”
