Students Gain Real-Life Skills Working on Donated Vehicles

Students at two schools in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada have been given the opportunity to learn and gain technical hands-on skills working on new automotive technology through the donation of Acura and Honda vehicles this spring.

Students at Holy Cross Catholic Secondary School received a 2013 Acura ILX through the new car educational donation program from Honda Canada. The students, in grades 9-12, used the Acura in the school’s auto shop for technical training.

Honda Canada also donated a 2013 Civic EX sedan to Thomas A. Stewart Secondary School. The in-kind donations of such items allow students to master their skills on quality, reliable and dependable vehicles, products and parts.

The donation was part of Honda Canada’s overall annual donations of old vehicles, engines and parts to schools across Canada. In the last three years, Honda Canada has donated more than $400,000 worth of past model vehicles, general purpose engines and automobile parts and diagnostic tools to secondary and post-secondary institutions across the county for the purposes of engineering training and education.
