Honda Partners With Junior Achievement to Inspire Next Generation of Innovators

Honda associates joined with students and Junior Achievement (JA) leaders to celebrate the opening of the Honda space at JA BizTown, an innovative program that helps elementary students understand the roles they will play as citizens, workers and consumers.

JA BizTown combines classroom learning with a day-long visit to a simulated town at the Junior Achievement Learning Center of Columbus, which is expected to welcome as many as 13,000 students this year. Under the guidance of volunteers, students operate banks, manage restaurants, write checks and vote for mayor. The Honda space focuses on manufacturing operations and provides opportunities for students to learn more about Honda careers.

JA Biztown aligns with Honda’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) vision to help people fulfill their own life’s potential, through financial contributions and the volunteer efforts of Honda associates. Through partnerships like these, Honda strives to prepare the next generation for the future by fostering a resilient and innovative workforce that will contribute to economic prosperity within our communities where we live and work.

“Through our collaboration with Junior Achievement, we are proud to share the exciting world of modern manufacturing with Ohio students,” said Mike Zindars, plant lead of the Marysville Auto Plant. “We want to show students what’s possible when you harness the power of technology, teamwork and, most importantly, dreams.”

At the Honda section of JA BizTown, students will wear white Honda uniforms while they gain hands-on experience in production, maintenance, engineering, design and teamwork.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity to apply concepts they are learning in the classroom to real-world scenarios,” Zindars said. “I hope this space will inspire new dreams for years to come.”
