Honda Motor Co., Ltd. announced this week it will donate one million euros ($1.1M USD) through the Japanese Red Cross Society to support humanitarian aid in Ukraine and neighboring countries.

The donations will be used to support the crisis response in Ukraine, and the relief efforts in nearby countries receiving refugees.

Honda has taken this unique step in light of the current situation where many people are facing extraordinary difficulties.

In addition, as part of its existing HondaGO Give program, Honda in the U.S. will match donations made by associates who wish to support organizations providing aid to those impacted.

U.S. associates can request Honda match their eligible monetary donations up to $1,000 per associate per fiscal year.

Honda only matches donations to eligible U.S.-based charities, therefore associates will need to donate to domestic organizations that are doing work or providing services in the areas impacted by the Ukrainian crisis.

The HondaGO Give Matching Gift Program is part of the company’s ongoing commitment to empower associates to help those in need.
