Edible Cars Inspire at S.T.E.M Event
The cars designed at the Central Ohio S.T.E.M Expo didn’t run on gasoline, hydrogen or electricity, but they did taste delicious!
That’s because they were made from things like cookies, gumdrops, pretzels and carrots.
For the sixth year in a row, Honda associates from Honda of America Mfg. volunteered at the event hosted by the American Society of Civil Engineers, helping teach K-8 students about manufacturing skills through building their very own edible cars.
The children enjoyed making and racing their edible cars, so much so that supplies ran out and had to be replenished during the event!
Fourteen Honda volunteers from the Honda Young Professionals Business Resource Group worked the stations and track at Honda’s display. The traffic through the event was steady and didn’t slow down much at any point until near the end of the day.
This is the seventh year the annual event has taken in place in Central Ohio, allowing attendees to participate in fun, free and interactive activities in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math fields.
