Honda Manufacturing of Alabama donates scholarships & hosts career booth for Magic City Classic
On a crisp fall day in Birmingham, AL, Honda Manufacturing of Alabama (HMA) sponsored The Magic City Classic, the largest historically black college and university (HBCU) football game in the United States.
Each year for the game, Alabama A&M University and Alabama State University go head-to-head for the opportunity to earn a spot in the Southwestern Athletic Conference Championship.
This was the seventh consecutive year HMA sponsored and participated in Magic City Classic festivities, which included donating a $10,000 scholarship to each school, co-hosting a pre-game corporate tent with American Honda Motor Co. and Honda Power Equipment, and participating in a career information booth.
The career information booth, part of Code the Classic Birmingham: Tech Career Fair and Expo, helped spread the word about career opportunities at HMA. Students in attendance were also able to participate in a coding boot camp competition.
