Honda Canada Foundation Donates Honda Odyssey to Matthews House Hospice
The Honda Canada Foundation (HCF) presented Matthews House Hospice with a Honda Odyssey minivan this month to support their community hospice services for families across South Simcoe and beyond.
Community hospice services enables Matthews House to extend the residential hospice into the community by providing palliative support, caregiver support, wellness programs and bereavement support. This in-kind donation is an extension of the HCF’s longstanding partnership with Matthews House, including a $750,000 donation to support construction of the Community Wing of the new, state-of-the-art 10-bed facility, which opened its doors in 2018.
“As a supporter of Matthews House, we are pleased to expand our partnership as they extend their community hospice services,” said Bill Easdale, Senior Vice President of Honda of Canada Mfg. and Vice Chair of the Honda Canada Foundation. “The donation of a Honda Odyssey will enable Matthews House to reach into the community to deliver hospice services for individuals and families beyond the residential hospice.”
“Honda has recognized the value of the services we provide to our clients and has been very generous to us. And now, once again, this gift of a new 2019 Honda Odyssey illustrates the forward thinking and community consciousness of Honda,” said Marv Chantler, Vice President, Board of Directors, Matthews House Hospice. “It is an example of compassion meeting community. We are deeply grateful for Honda’s generous support of Matthews House Hospice.”
