2019 Honda Ridgeline Earns IIHS Top Safety Pick Rating
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has awarded the 2019 Honda Ridgeline a TOP SAFETY PICK (TSP) rating when equipped with optional front crash prevention and specific headlights. Ridgeline is the only pickup truck tested by the IIHS to receive a TOP SAFETY PICK rating, also earning a “Superior” rating for its available Collision Mitigation Braking System™ (CMBS™), part of the Honda Sensing® suite of driver assistive and safety technologies.
Ridgeline comes with Honda Sensing® standard on RTL-E and Black Edition trims. In addition to CMBS™, Honda Sensing® includes Forward Collision Warning; Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) incorporating Lane Departure Warning (LDW); Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS); and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC). Ridgline RTL-E and Black Edition trims also come with LED low-beam headlights, which earn a IIHS “Good” rating.
The 2019 Ridgeline is the seventh Honda model to receive a top safety rating from the IIHS. The 2019 Honda Accord, CR-V, HR-V, Pilot and Odyssey all received TSP, while Insight earned TOP SAFETY PICK+. Separately, every Honda model that has been fully evaluated in the NHTSA’s 2019 model year NCAP testing, including the 2019 Ridgeline, has received a 5-Star Overall Vehicle Score.
