Honda Honored by National Association of Minority Automobile Dealers and IHS Automotive

Honda was honored by the National Association of Minority Automobile Dealers (NAMAD) with four Diversity Volume Leadership Awards, including Top Overall Ethnic Vehicle for the Honda Civic, America’s retail best-selling car in 2018 and in each of the past three years.

The ceremony was held in Detroit, on the eve of the 2019 North American International Auto Show. The 2018 Honda Civic was awarded the Top Overall Ethnic Vehicle by NAMAD and IHS Automotive, as well as top ethnic vehicle in the West region, and as the overall volume leader with Hispanic buyers.

The 2018 Honda Pilot also was recognized as a volume growth leader among Asian Pacific Islanders. In addition, the Honda Grom won for Top Ethnic Sport Bike.

“Honda is incredibly honored to accept these awards,” said Henio Arcangeli, Jr., Senior Vice President, Automobile Division, American Honda. “Civic winning the top overall award speaks to the continued importance of passenger cars in the marketplace and especially with the powerful and growing multicultural customer segment.”

The NAMAD awards recognize top-performing automotive brands that are driving sales with multicultural consumers. Awards were presented to brands whose vehicles had the highest number of new-vehicle registrations among African-Americans, Hispanics, Asian Pacific Islanders, Native Americans, and LGBT based on market data from IHS Automotive.
