Honda Associates Across the U.S. Support Annual Giving Campaigns
Honda associates across the nation supported the United Way in its mission to create a community where all individuals and families achieve their human potential through education, financial stability and healthy lives.
All told, associates and the company donated nearly $2 million in 2018. Honda’s Ohio United Way campaign, comprising several Honda companies, raised nearly $1.3 million to support the needs of Honda’s communities and neighbors in Ohio.
Honda Manufacturing of Alabama (HMA) raised $574,300 for area United Way agencies and their benefactors. The amount includes associate contributions and a company match. “Thank you to those associates who continually give year after year, and to those contributed for the first time,” said Fran Pope, coordinator of HMA’s United Way program. “These agencies certainly are appreciative of their generosity, and it was wonderful to see so many associates take a passionate interest in raising funds to help throughout our area.”
At Honda Manufacturing of Indiana (HMIN), associates kicked another associate giving campaign, United Fund, by inviting 16 local United Fund agencies onsite to engage with associates about the impact their contributions make in the community.
At the end of the campaign, 788 associates raised roughly $101,219. “We felt it was important to connect associates with the organizations that directly benefit from their contributions and learn more about the work in the community,” said Emily Flanigan, HMIN corporate communications and community relations.
