Honda Volunteers Install Smoke Detectors
Nearly 200 residents in Urbana, Ohio are safer in their homes today thanks to a group of 30 HondaGO Volunteers from Honda of America Mfg.
In partnership with the American Red Cross and the Urbana Fire Division, Honda associates canvassed 265 homes for working smoke detectors March 4. More than 150 were installed.
“It’s an honor to be part of a company that takes interest in helping out our community,” said Kelvin Moore, staff engineer. “We were able to install several smoke detectors and knowing that this could potentially save someone’s life, it made each of us feel pride.”
Devon Murray, East Liberty Auto Plant associate, said his experience was one to remember.
“It was great to see people come together as one to help save another person’s life and raise awareness. Honda providing opportunities like this give people like myself a way to be more of a positive influence out in the community,” he said.
