Companies Spreading Good Will Through Acts of Service

Honda’s companies, suppliers and dealers across North American are performing 560 acts of service this week as part of the third annual Team Honda Week of Service. This week, there are 107 Honda-led projects, 178 supplier-led projects and 275 projects led by dealers taking place in 48 states, Mexico and Canada.

With hundreds of employees from dealerships and suppliers working to make a difference in their communities, many lives will no doubt be touched by the Week of Service.

Here are some highlights from this week’s activities.

-Associates from Honda Transmission Manufacturing of America, Inc. helped install smoke detectors in the homes of some families near Honda’s Ohio locations.

-AutoNation Honda South in Corpus Cristi, Texas, made almost 300 tacos to feed the homeless at Mother Teresa Homeless Shelter.

-Supplier Maritz Motivation Solutions worked to help those in need as they collected and sorted donations at a St. Louis food pantry.

-Walser Automotive Group in St. Paul, Minn., packed Roadside Kindness Packets to pass out the homeless and gave free hot dogs to baseball fans at the St. Paul Saints game.

-Volunteers from supplier Alps Electric and Denso Ten planted trees and other plants for Food Bank Rio Grande Valley in Texas.

-Jim White Honda teamed up with Impact with Hope to package 10,000 meals that will be distributed through 34 organizations in the Toledo, OH area who provide free meals to thousands of kids during the summer months.

-Honda Manufacturing of Indiana spent an afternoon at the Greensburg-Decatur County Public Library. Volunteers assembled and decorated six little free libraries.

Frank Leta Acura‏ volunteered at Stray Rescue of St. Louis, walking the dogs in their shelter.

-In honor of Flag Day, the men and women of Walker Honda spent the day cleaning gravestones, planting flags and building flower beds at the Central Louisiana veteran’s cemetery.

-Associates at Morgan Hill Honda in California found a creative way to help women, children and dog shelters – making tied blankets and dog toys.
