Associates Honor Black History Month by Giving Time to Boys and Girls Club

In honor of Black History Month, volunteers from Honda R&D Americas, Inc. in Ohio spent some time at the Milo-Grogan Boys & Girls Club near downtown Columbus, Ohio to help improve the facility and share with the students information about careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Manufacturing (STEAM).

Seven associates helped paint and restore a mural and clean up the gym and other activity rooms. Following the work, associates discussed a wide variety of careers with the students that span across direct and indirect support of Honda R&D. After a brief demonstration of electromagnetics and electric motors and a Q&A session, with the nearly 70 students that utilize the club as an after school program, the associates split up into groups to help students draw their future cars and/or build their future cars out of Legos.

The event was coordinated through a partnership with HandsOn Columbus.
