Helpful Honda Dealers Donate 20,000 Face Shields Made by Honda to Help Frontline Healthcare Workers at Local Hospitals

Helpful Honda Dealers in Southern California and North Texas are donating 20,000 face shields to help keep frontline healthcare workers safe at local hospitals.

Working in conjunction with Honda’s U.S. manufacturing operations in Marysville, Ohio, where the face shields are being mass produced using plastic injection molding technology ordinarily used in the production of vehicle components, the Helpful Honda Dealers are able to lend a hand in their local communities.

Honda’s face shields have been authorized for use during the COVID-19 pandemic by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration pursuant to an Emergency Use Authorization. The single-use face shields are based on a design provided by Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, OH. Honda is producing 170,000 face shields for donations, to start, as part of its COVID-19 response in North America.

“We are incredibly grateful for this generous and much needed donation from Honda,” said Gregory Monette, Assistant Administrator, Community Hospital of Huntington Park, and a recipient of 1,600 face shields.  “Our physicians, nurses and staff are working tirelessly to care for the community, and these face shields help to protect our workers and patients.  They are an essential tool in short supply, and we are thankful to the Helpful Honda Guys for their timely donation.”
