Since 2003, Honda has showcased the extraordinary musical talent of HBCU marching bands through Honda Battle of the Bands (HBOB). As the nation's premier showcase for HBCU marching bands, HBOB has become a cornerstone for celebrating the vibrant culture and rich traditions of HBCUs, delivering countless unforgettable performances and highlighting the passions of HBCU students. 

Building on its nearly 40-year legacy of supporting HBCUs, Honda provides institutional grants to all HBOB participating schools. These grants aim to enhance music education and career development programs, ensuring that students have the resources they need to succeed. 

In February 2025, Honda brought the excitement of HBOB to the west coast for the very first time. This historic event energized HBCU alumni, fans, celebrities, and the Los Angeles community, furthering Honda’s commitment to fostering educational and cultural excellence.
