What We Believe: Our CSR Statement
I’m pleased to announce the publication of the Honda Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Statement for North America. Reflecting our long-standing humanistic philosophy, the statement affirms Honda’s stance on key social values, including human rights, working conditions, business ethics, diversity, environmental stewardship and community involvement.
These principles are consistent with the deeply held beliefs and practices that guide our business operations. They not only support our desire to be a positive force in society, but also form the foundation of a sustainable business.
Our CSR Statement is an outgrowth of our long-held company philosophy. At the heart of our philosophy is the concept of “Respect for the Individual.” It guides how we think about the world and how we treat each other, our customers, and business partners. And it signals our company’s sincere desire “to be a company that society wants to exist.”
Having worked for a few Fortune 500 companies earlier in my career, I can tell you that not all companies would embrace a statement like ours. I am proud to be part of a company that seeks to consider socially responsible practices in every aspect of our operations. I hope you’ll take a moment to read our statement and find out more about what we believe.
Thank you.
Gary Kessler, senior vice president of Human Resources, Administration and Corporate Affairs
