Sharing is Caring is a Tradition at American Honda

To spread holiday cheer to those in need, American Honda once again partnered with The Salvation Army and the Torrance Marriott Redondo Beach for the 27th annual Sharing Is Caring luncheon. The event brings together volunteers to serve up hope and a hot meal to a local community in Southern California.

Held on Dec. 26, the luncheon was born from an unlikely circumstance — a robbery. Twenty-seven years ago, The Salvation Army warehouse was robbed of toys that were intended for underprivileged children that Christmas. Honda heard about it and reached out to The Salvation Army in Torrance to help.

Now, nearly three decades later, the tradition continues.

The Sharing Is Caring event offers a sit-down, catered meal at the Torrance Marriott Redondo Beach Grand Ballroom. Each guest—some of whom were struggling financially, emerging out of homelessness, trying to find the next meal, or simply feeling lonely during the winter months and looking to break bread with others—were treated to a top-notch, restaurant-style meal, served by more than 100 Honda associate volunteers.
