Honda Provides In-Kind Support for Hurricane Relief Efforts

The Honda family of companies in the U.S. is providing in-kind support for those affected by hurricanes Harvey and Irma. This in-kind contribution is in addition to a monetary pledge and contributions from associates previously announced by the company.

Honda is donating 50 water pumps and 600 portable generators, valued at approximately $650,000, to the American Red Cross. The contribution also includes delivery of the equipment by Honda Logistics, a company which supports supply chain management for Honda manufacturing operations in North America.

Honda announced on August 30, 2017 that it had pledged $100,000 to the American Red Cross in support of Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. The pledge consists of a corporate contribution as well as a matching gift program for individual Honda associate contributions to the Red Cross, which will then be matched dollar-for-dollar by the company. Donations will now support victims of both storms.

The Red Cross, which is providing food, shelter and cleanup/comfort kits in the areas impacted by the storms, will receive the balance of the donated items and will deploy the Honda products on a regional basis to assist with clean up and provide needed power.

Honda has also invited its dealers, retirees, suppliers, partners and contingent workforce to join in supporting the hurricane relief effort. These contributions will not be matched by the company.
